Moving

The last few days has been crazy. I am in the process of moving to post housing. The heat is killing us , so the moving is taking a bit slower than expected. Over the last three years we have moved four times. The money we have put into renting property over the last nine years could have been nice towards a home of our own but being in the military, you don't stay in one place long enough to invest or buy a home and fear that it wont get sold. With all of this going on, I received a call from Wes and that made me happy. He is doing well but he can not stand the 120 degree weather. I have the end of July to be out of our house, so I am taking it slow. That's pretty much it for now.

Week 1

It's been a week without Wes and so far so good. I am keeping myself busy by hanging with great friends and family. I will be spending a few weeks at my sister, so that won't be too bad, she always has something fun planned. I am thinking about moving to post housing because, I feel that I need to surround myself with military families who are in the same situation as me. I remember the last time Wes was in Iraq, I was a mess, I guess of the fear of the unknown. His unit now gave the family a briefing about where they would be and how they will be living. It seemed alright better than where he was last time. I still worry because he is not home with me. Sometimes I wish he would get out and get a normal 9 to 5 job but I know thats not for him now. He is dedicated about serving his country and I will stand by him until he retires so 10 more years. WOW! Long time!

Almost There

Ever since Wes has left, I have been carrying my cell phone as if it was attached to me. While getting my hair fixed, Wes called. It was so wonderful to hear his voice!! Even though it was only for a few mins. So far they are keeping them busy with training and pt ( physical fitness). He will be in Kuwait for a few weeks and then off to Iraq.

Buddy and Bubby

One of my great friend Tranee and her son, Grey spent the day at our home. Its a blessing to have them in our lives. Just like me, Tranee is an Army wife and her husband is deployed to Iraq. Were trying to spend as much time together to make the time go by fast. Buddy really enjoyed holding Grey until he started crying.

Dogs Playing

Water Balloon War

We had a blast playing with the water balloons, even though it really HURT!!! The water balloons would not burst on contact even Tobie couldnt break it with her mouth.

Wesley was getting ready to hit my dad.

1st Cav Museum

Since my family and his father came down to Killeen to see Wes off , we decided to take the family to the 1st Cav museum and we had a wonderful time seeing all the different types of vehicles.

Late Night, I Can't Sleep!

Its a little after 11pm, as I lay in bed watching my Hubby sleeping peacefully. Its just a matter of hours, and he will be leaving me and our son. I would think these deployments would get easier because this is his second time going to Iraq. I remember the first time he left was really hard for me. I put all of our stuff in storage and decide that me and our son would move in with my sister and father. Being close to family was important to me and plus I needed the support. I was constantly thinking how he was , what he was doing. Time did go by slow but Wes made it easy, he would always called when he had a chance and hearing his voice , felt so good and I was relieved. Wes keeps telling me not to worry that he will be safe because of the location but you can not keep your guard down. It doesnt matter, he is still going to be in Iraq. I will constantly worry until he comes home.
I am sad, because he will be missing 15 months of our son's life. He will miss the entire 2nd grade, the baseball , soccer practices and games. Fifthteen months of seeing the growth of a little boy. Our son knows that Daddy is going to Iraq to fight the bad guys!
My eyes become full of tears , I try to hold them it but I cant. I know once we say our final goodbyes , the tears will come pouring down but thats okay.

Proud, Army Wife!

Counting down the days...

Well, its almost time to say goodbye to my love. Once again he is heading back to Iraq and this time he will be there longer than last time. I have been handling the leaving pretty well but I know once he leaves this house for our final goodbyes, its going to hit me.
