Back to Iraq

Well, this morning Wes flew out and is heading back to Iraq. Were sad but there is a light at the end of the tunnel because he will be home for good in June. So now until he comes back, I will keep myself busy, between school , working out and Buddy' s after school activities and the Family Readiness Group. On another note, last night while Wes was checking his email, he found out that he has been reassigned to Fort Polk, Louisiana in January 2010. We have mixed feelings about Polk, because we were wanting to go to Hawaii but we will be alright, at least were still close to family so they can watch Buddy grow up to be a young man. We were station there back in 2000-2004, I am sure, I hope it has changed a little bit, meaning , more shopping centers and more things to do. We have been here at Fort Hood for four years and I remember when we first arrived, that I did not like this place because it was too crowded and Wes would have to wake up two hours early to get to work but now I am used to the heavy traffic, I have a system now,
- not to shop on paydays
- do errands between 0930-1130 and 1300-1430
- if I have to go to wal-mart , go early on Sunday
I know this sounds sad but this system works here because Killeen is such a small city and there are so , so, so many people. If you like to be in the middle of all the traffic, to each is own. I love this system and come custom of it, Wes thinks I am crazy but for all my friends here, I know you understand my methods.

Happy Valentine's Day to Me!
What to say, what to say! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's. I had a wonderful surprise, Wes came home, ten days early. We have been together over ten years and he could never surprise me, somehow I would find out and he would be disappointed because, Wes loves to surprise anyone and his goal was to one day get me and boy did he. For over a month, he has been telling me that he was coming home on the 22nd but all along he was coming on the 13th. Instead of flying to the local airport, he landed in Dallas and my sister picked him up. My sister was coming to town to celebrate V-Day with the ladies, so when she arrived later that night, she told me to go to her car to get the bags. Now it was dark and when I open the back door, Wes jumped up with a dozen of roses and shouted "SURPRISED"! I was screaming and crying, it felt so good to have his arms around me. This is one Valentine's that I will always cherish, I love you Wes, with ALL My HEART!

!February!
Well another month has gone by and happy to say, I am counting down the days until I see my sweet Hubby. All is well here, just keeping busy and since Wes will be home, I have been organizing our closets because when I moved to post housing it has cut half of our closet space. My hubby's clothes has been under the bed for the last 8 months and now trying to get it all out and give him some space has been a real challenge. We are praying for his safe return and wish all the other soldiers a safe return as well. Buddy is doing well in school and is also counting down, he is so happy to show his Daddy his school and his report card!

Some pics from December 2008
Update........
Well, this month has passed by super fast and I am also happy to say that my Wes will be coming home soon. Lets see, Buddy got his report card last month and proud to say that he made the A and B honor roll. Putting him in a private school was the best decision we made. He has a wonderful teacher, who has plenty of patience with him. I decided to take some classes semester to keep me busy and it has! Well that's it for now.

Month 7: Happy New Year! 2009
Mini Reunion: Me, Stephanie and Bobbie!

Happy New Year!
I can't believe that me and Buddy actually made it to see the New Year but quickly ended and we passed out! It is month 7 for Wes and of course he is doing well. He will be coming home next month for R & R- rest and relax. I am so excited, that we will be seeing him in a month! There is so much to do when he gets home, the Army will only let him have 18 days of leave. Got to love the Army, he is gone for 15 months and out of that we only get 18 days. While I was up in Fort Worth I had the opportunity to see old friends and it was great to see them.
December Month 6

It has been awhile since my last blog. Not much has really happen. Wes is doing fine over there, he says he is ready to come home. Lets recap on this month, I finished a semester of school, enjoyed spending Christmas up in Fort Worth with my sister, I had a mini reunion with old friends from junior high. Plus, Santa had time to stop in Iraq to visit the soldiers!
